Aislin Carpenter is a dynamic trumpeter, educator, and musical theater composer/lyricist based in the Washington DC area. A graduate of Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, she is currently a trumpeter with the United States Air Force Concert Band, and has performed with ensembles such as the New World Symphony, the Music Academy Festival Orchestra, and the National Orchestral Institute Philharmonic.

As a composer, Aislin combines her background in classical performance with her interest in narrative work - her song, “Sincerely", written about the relationship between 19th century composers Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms, was named a finalist in the 2022 Write Out Loud Musical Theater Contest. Aislin's lyrics can also be heard on Abhik Mazumder's 2024 album, Into the West, on her beloved songwriting Instagram, @little.ditties, and in various performing venues throughout the DC area.

In both of her disciplines, Aislin advocates for the creative voices of gender-marginalized people - in 2022, she was a member of the first all-female trumpet ensemble to compete in the finals of the National Trumpet Competition. In 2023, she penned a song cycle entitled "A Pretty Face", which tells the stories of four "forgotten" women from history. A versatile and dedicated artist, she aims to promote connection and community in all her endeavors.
